This is the episode where I try to explain why I think Todd Rundgren’s “Cliché” is the most beautiful song ever written. Of course it’s all subjective, but I don’t know how anyone could deny the beauty and emotional resonance of this song. I probably can’t do it justice, but here’s my attempt anyway.

Found your podcast the other night while doing a deep think on this song. You speak to, and for, me! I find it really hard to explain my deep and abiding love for Todd’s music to people, so I really appreciate your effort and share many of your feelings on this song (and Todd, generally). Also enjoyed the other post on Parallel Lines – another great piece. Can you do one for every Todd song?? 😉
Thanks, Janelle! Todd is a huge personal favorite of mine, so I’ll certainly be discussing more Todd songs over time. I’ve also done a couple episodes on Uotpia, so check those out, too!
